Q: 1. Who is eligible for the program?

Michigan residents who:have graduated from a Michigan high school (diploma, certificate, or equivalency in 2023 or later.have been a resident for at least the immediately preceding year.have not yet earned an associate or bachelor’s degree.

Q: 2. What counties in Kansas are eligible to participate?

All Kansas counties are eligible to participate in the SPRNT® Lab ADOPT 2.0 Technology Readiness Program.While the program is open statewide, a majority of device distribution will be prioritized for the below six counties that show higher economic distress based on unemployment data:Wyandotte County – Kansas City, Bonner SpringsGeary County – Junction CityLinn County – Pleasanton, La CygneAtchison County – AtchisonFord County – Dodge CityCrawford County – Pittsburg

The SPRNT® Lab ADOPT 2.0 Technology Readiness Program, fully funded through the ADOPT 2.0 grant initiative, intends to support 500 – 750 Kansans statewide by providing access to modern laptops, technology readiness training, and digital skills development.

Q: 5. Do I have to pay for anything?

No, all program components are included through ADOPT 2.0 funding — participants do not pay out-of-pocket.

You’ll receive follow-up guidance from SPRNT® Lab on how to continue your learning journey or enroll in advanced training opportunities.

Receive up to $4,000 toward career training through an approved SPRNT-Lab® program.

About The Program

A Career Training Program Administered by MiLEAP

Whether you’re looking to start a new career in IT or level up your existing skills, the Michigan Achievement Skills Scholarship is designed to help Michigan residents transition into high-demand careers.

Through the program, eligible participants receive a loaner laptop and access to the SPRNT^® Lab digital learning environment — where they can explore technology careers, build fundamental web development skills, and receive a personalized technology skills report.

SPRNT-Lab® is proud to be an approved provider offering career training programs, and this funding covers your training costs!

Complete Your Technology Assessment

Through SPRNT^® Lab, participants complete a 30–45 minute guided assessment to measure digital aptitude, learning style, and readiness. You'll receive a detailed report outlining your strengths and which technology career areas align best.

Apply For The Scholarship

Submit a Michigan Achievement Skills Scholarship application via the MI Student Aid Student Scholarships and Grants portal. If approved, you will receive a notification of eligibility.

Receive Your Laptop

Participants receive a laptop on loan for your course needs. Devices are pre-configured with everything needed to complete the program.

Begin Your Training

Access SPRNT^® Lab’s courses, including Foundations of IT Support Specialist, JavaScript Development, C# Development, and Java Development.

Return & Reconnect

At the end of your loan period, return the laptop and receive guidance on the next steps toward advanced training or career readiness through SPRNT^®Lab.

Who Should Participate

The Michigan Achievement Skills Scholarships program, provided by SPRNT^® Lab, is open to:

Michigan Residents
All Michigan residents who have lived within the state for at least the immediately preceding year
Michigan High School Graduates with a diploma, certificate of completion, or high school equivalency certificate in 2023 or after
Michigan Adults who have not yet earned an associate or bachelor's degree
Career Changers and Jobseekers reskilling for technology careers, and meet other requirements
